
Garth named Defensive Player of the Week

Green Bay, WI âWR/LB Robert Garth (6-3,235, New Mexico State) was named the ADT Defensive Player of the Week for his stellar performance Saturday night helping the Blizzard freeze the Peoria Pirates 57-29. Garth scored 2 defensive touchdowns, one on an interception and the other on a blocked field goal. Garth ended the game with 2 interceptions for 53 yards, 2.5 tackles, and 3 receptions for 33 yards. This is the first weekly award for Garth and fourth for the Blizzard franchise.
With the win on Saturday, the Blizzard moved in sole possession of third place in the Midwest Division with a 4-5 record. QB Chris Greisen set a franchise and single season record for most passing touchdowns with 48. The previous record was held by Ramon Robinson with 45.
Next up for the Blizzard is 7-2 Birmingham Steeldogs who are coached by former NFL running back, Bobby Humphery. The game is Saturday, June 12th in Birmingham, Alabama.
