Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings News Release

QUICK FACTS:
Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings (3-7)
at Laredo Law (2-7)
Date: Friday, June 11, 2004
Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. CDT
Site: Laredo Entertainment Center

Radio: KWKH AM (Charlie Chitwood)
TV: none
Series Record: New series
Last Meeting: First meeting
Streaks: Bossier-Shreveport W-1, Laredo L-2
Coaches: Head-Keith Barefield, First-year; Ronnie Alexander, Defensive Coordinator; Assistants: John Lewis and John Bachman

THE STAKES: These two cities have met several times before, but not on the gridiron. Laredo and Bossier-Shreveport met in the Central Hockey League championship series earlier this year with Laredo taking the title on a questionable call in game seven.

Both football teams have similar records with the only common opponents being Tennessee Valley and Tulsa. Laredo split with those two teams, while the Battle Wings lost a close one to Tulsa and was beaten rather handily by the Vipers.

If Bossier-Shreveport can win, it would be their second-straight road victory after breaking a 13-game road skid last week in their win against Memphis.

THE SERIES: This is the first meeting between the two teams.
