Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Senators scored first Thursday night in Akron, but the lead didn't last long in their 8-2 to the RubberDucks. Wilson Garcia homered leading off the second to give the Sens a 1-0 lead. Akron then rallied against the Sens bullpen scoring twice in the fourth, and three times in the sixth and eighth innings. With the win, Akron holds onto their one game lead in the division with three games remaining in the first half.

Ronald Herrera came off the injured list Thursday and pitched the first three frames allowing a hit but facing just nine batters. Francys Peguero followed, going 2.1 innings and allowing five runs on six hits. Edgard Garcia allowed three runs on two hits in 2.1 innings. Brian Gonzalez faced one batter in the eighth and retiring him on a fly ball to left to end the inning.

Andrew Young homered in the ninth and had a single. The home run was his second in the series. Brady Lindsly had the only other hit for the Senators, a single in the eighth.

The loss is the sixth straight for the Senators. Harrisburg committed two errors in the game, a rarity for the Sens. The Sens did not have an at bat with a runner in scoring position.
