June 23, 2022 - Eastern League (EL)
Akron RubberDucks News Release
Logan Allen tossed a career-long seven innings to back another strong offensive performance as the Akron RubberDucks down the Harrisburg Senators 8-2 on Thursday night at Canal Park. The RubberDucks reduced their magic number to three with the win and Richmond's split of their doubleheader.
Turning Point
Micah Pries stretched the slim 2-1 Akron lead in the sixth when he tripled home Brayan Rocchio and George Valera before crossing home plate with a little league home run after Harrisburg shortstop Jackson Cluff fired the ball into the dugout making it 5-1 Ducks.
Mound Presence
Logan Allen made his team leading 13th start of the season and other than a home run to start the second inning, he was in complete control. Allen tossed seven innings allowing only the one run and two hits while striking out 11. Brett Daniels followed with a scoreless inning. In his first game back at Canal Park since suffering a season-ending injury on a comebacker last summer, Eli Lingos tossed an inning allowing one run.
Duck Tales
Chris Roller got the RubberDucks offense started with a line drive double into center field in the bottom of the fourth inning before coming home to score on a ground rule double by Rocchio to tie the game 1-1. Later in the inning, Pries hit a sac fly deep into right center to bring Rocchio home and give Akron a 2-1 lead. In the eighth inning, Akron added to the lead when George Valera hit an RBI triple to score Rocchio and make it 6-1. Marcos Gonzalez brought home Valera with an RBI single to make it 7-1. A wild pitch allowed Pries to bring the Ducks lead to 8-1.
