Lehigh Valley Steelhawks News Release
Bethlehem, PA: The Cedar Rapids Titans will be making the long trip to the Lehigh Valley to take on the Steelhawks Saturday night for the second time this season. This will be Cedar Rapids first trip to the Valley as a franchise.
The Titans (2-3) are coming off a loss to the Green Bay Blizzard, their first in their home arena. The Titans are led by veteran QB Willie Copeland (536 yds, 11 tds, 7 int). His favorite target so far this season has been WR Johnny Gray (26 catches, 210 yds, 4 tds). Their top rusher has been RB Travis Rhone (111 yds, 3 tds), and they recently added another rusher in Andre Crenshaw (101 yds, 6tds) in a trade with the Sioux Falls Storm.
The Steelhawks (3-3) are fresh off another strong win against the Reading Express. They will be looking to build on their win to get back above .500 with a win this weekend. A big part of their success will come from their Defense, which is ranked 2nd in the league for fewest points given up per game (41), and leads the league with fewest rushing yards given up per game (30.3). QB Bryan Randall (704 yds, 15 tds, 2 int) continues to lead a potent Steelhawk offense that saw WR Irani DeAraujo Jr. catch 12 passes for 134 yards and five touchdowns last weekend in Reading. RB Ryan Leafey put in another solid performance, rushing for 77 yards and two touchdowns against the Express. He continues to lead all running backs on yards per carry (5.2).
