
Week 7 Indoor Football League Players of the Week Named

RICHMOND VA.- The Indoor Football League (IFL) has named WR Irani DeAraujo, DB T.J Simmons and KR Darius Marshall Vidswap,com's Week 7 IFL Players of the Week.
Lehigh Valley WR Irani DeAraujo and Cedar Rapids DB T.J Simmons have been named Vidswap.com's Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively. New Mexico KR Darius Marshall has been named Vidswap.com's Special Teams Player of the Week.
IFL Offensive Player of the Week: DeAraujo (6'3, 220, Albany) had his breakthrough game of the season as he caught 12 passes for 134 yards and five touchdowns for the Steelhawks in their win against the Reading Express 62-41. Coming into the game DeAraujo had just one receiving touchdown of the season. He tripled that total in just the first half against the Express. DeAraujo,who scored the first three touchdowns of the game for the Steelhawks, went on score 30 total points for the Steelhawks. DeAraujo leads the Steelhawks in receptions (34) and receiving yards (330).
IFL Defensive Player of the Week: Despite a loss to the Green Bay Blizzard 59-46, Simmons (5'8, 180, South Dakota) helped keep the Cedar Rapids Titans in the game. Simmons is the first player in the 2012 IFL season to return two interceptions returns for touchdowns in the same game. In the second quarter Simmons snatched a pass from Green Bay QB Donovan Porterie and returned it 31 yards for a touchdown. He did it again in the third quarter as he returned his second interception 14 yards and helped Cedar Rapids take a one point lead going into the fourth quarter. Against the Blizzard, Simmons also led the Titans in tackles with 10.
IFL Special Teams Player of the Week: In an exciting game that came down to a Tri-Cities Fever last second field goal, Marshall (5'10, 190, Marshall) helped New Mexico with great field position throughout the night. Marshall returned five kickoffs for 141 yards and returned one for a touchdown. After Tri-Cities scored on their opening procession Marshall returned the kickoff 54 yards for a touchdown. Marshall currently ranks fourth in the IFL in kick return yards with 356.
