Edge Play Express at Reading Saturday

Bloomington, IL, 4/11/12 - The Bloomington Edge, presented by Heller Stores, will play at the Reading Express this Saturday at 7 pm. This is the second meeting of three between the two teams. The Edge beat the Express 54-40 at home on Feb. 26. The two will play again next week in Bloomington on April 21 at 7:05 pm. The Edge are 5-1 and ranked second in the United Conference. The only loss was in week one at Chicago. The Express are last in the United Conference with a record of 0-5.
The Edge have played a couple nail biters lately. On March 24 they beat Lehigh Valley 36-34 at home. The winning touchdown was scored as time ran out. On March 31 they won 70-60 at Chicago. This time they had to make the defensive stop as time ran out. At Chicago Dusty Burk threw 7 touchdown passes and Andre Raymond rushed for 3 touchdowns. Burk now has 24 touchdown passes on the season and also has rushed for 3 touchdowns. After the win against Lehigh Valley, Coach Kenton Carr said, "I'll take the W but that was rough." The team was off last week, so with the two tough wins the team had time to work on some things.
The Express played the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks at Reading last week and fell 62-41. Through halftime the Express led. Reading would take a lead, Lehigh Valley would tie, then the Express would score again. The game turned around in the second half. The Steelhawks took the lead and kept it to the end. Tim Bailey threw 4 touchdowns to four different receivers. He has 12 touchdown passes this year. No Reading player rushed for a touchdown. There were no field goals in the game.
