Steelhawks Owners to Put Team up for Sale

Allentown, PA: The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks ownership group announced today that they are putting the team up for sale. The organization, who are members of the National Arena League, have been in existence for eight seasons, with the last four being played inside the state of the art PPL Center in downtown Allentown, Pennsylvania.
"Our family has been blessed to be a part of the Lehigh Valley over the last eight years," stated Steelhawks Executive Vice President and General Manager Mike Clark. "We have been able to start a team from scratch, engrain ourselves in the local community, help young athletes achieve their goals of playing professional football and moving them up to higher leagues along the way, and entertain thousands of fans during the Spring and Summer months. We have made Championship runs, seen league MVPs emerge, been a part of many charitable campaigns, and helped promote many local businesses over the years via performance partnerships as well. As a family owned franchise over that entire span it is our hope that a new group emerges that will put the same love and care into it as we have, and continue the good works this team has brought to the area."
Clark mentioned that there have been a few inquiries over the course of the past few years to purchase the team, but the timing was right for a sale now with the 2018 season having been completed and the family looking at endeavors beyond football. While there have been a few potential groups reach out thus far, it is the Clark family's hope that a local group comes about with the same passion to use the team as a vessel to enhance the local community.
"We can not thank the Lehigh Valley more for welcoming and supporting us over the past eight years. We are committed to finding a group that will continue to keep the Steelhawks in the area for years to come," stated Clark.
