Defending Champs Heading to the Nest

June 27, 2018 - National Arena League (NAL) - Lehigh Valley Steelhawks News Release

Allentown, PA: The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks (0-9) play host to the Jacksonville Sharks (7-4) as they continue to fight for their first win. The game will kickoff Saturday, June 30th at 7:00pm on Embassy Bank Field inside the PPL Center, presented by Lehigh Valley International Airport. Fans can view the game locally on Service Electric Cable TV.

Jacksonville and Lehigh Valley face off for the second time this season, the Sharks swam away with a convincing win over an injury riddled 'Hawks team in the first meeting. The Steelhawks have struggled all season to put points on the board; the first meeting between these teams was a prime example. Lehigh Valley only managed one offensive touchdown. On the flip side, the defense was able to come away with four interceptions in that week six game.

This week features a healthy and more experienced Caleb Walton under center for the 'Hawks. A revamped pass protection in Shawn Lockett, Pete Borum, Malik Brewer, and Reggie White will help protect against the best pass rush in the league - led by DL Jermiah Price, who had four sacks in the first game.

As of late, Lehigh Valley's best receiving options have been FJ Williams and Yusef Reddick who have almost half of the teams receiving touchdowns.

Jacksonville's offense is led by Adrian McPherson (58.8% completion, 1,585 yds, 31 tds) who has Chris Gilchrist (12 tds), Antonio Vaughn (12 tds), and former Steelhawk Tom Gilson (9 tds) as targets.

If the Steelhawks can finish out each quarter and play a solid 60 minutes of football, they may have a chance for their first win of the season.

Lehigh Valley will have a second home game in a row next weekend when they host the Massachusetts Pirates, 7:00pm on July 7th.

Single game tickets, and flex packs are on sale now! Season tickets start as low as $11.50 for an individual seat. Call 610-224-4625 to reserve yours today. Steelhawks games are played on Embassy Bank Field inside the PPL Center.
