Curry Returns from Houston, Medvec and Kuemper Recalled to Aeros:
Goaltender John Curry returns to Orlando after being recalled to the Houston Aeros on Friday. Curry has played 15 games for the Solar Bears this season, collecting an 8-5-2-0 overall record, along with a 2.68 GAA and .910 save percentage. He is currently fourth in the ECHL with 406 saves, is tied for second in shootout wins with three, and is third with a .870 shootout save percentage.
Kuemper was returned to Houston after playing the last two games for the Solar Bears. He has now played in three games for Orlando, going 0-2-1-0 with a 2.61 GAA and .929 save percentage.
Medvec was recalled to the Aeros, marking the first time the 6'5", 220 lbs. defenseman has made a trip to the AHL this year. Medvec has skated in 12 games with Orlando, scoring three goals and adding four assists for seven points.
Matchup:
Fort Wayne and Orlando close out a three game set with a Sunday afternoon contest at the Amway Center today. The Komets have taken each of the first two games, scoring with 7.8 seconds left in regulation to force overtime on Friday, where they eventually won in a shootout. Last night, the two sides ended the first period in a scoreless tie, but Fort Wayne struck for three second period goals to take a 3-0 lead into the third. Despite numerous quality scoring chances, the Solar Bears were unable to sneak a puck past Komets goaltender Charlie Effinger as Fort Wayne collected the 3-0 win over Orlando.

C Dale Mahovsky is expected to make his Solar Bears debut tonight... F Mike Liambas set a new team high for penalty minutes in a game last night with 20 PIM... The Solar Bears loss last night was the first home loss on a Saturday night this year... The Solar Bears are fourth on the penalty kill at 85.6 percent... The Orlando Solar Bears have had back-to-back games with over 6,800 fans in attendance... LW Brett Lyon was released on Friday... LW Nick Petersen did not play last night and is questionable for today's game... F Ryan Ginand left last night's game in the second period and did not return... F Derrick Burnett and D Brad Good were released on Monday... RW Chris Lawrence remains on the 21-day IR....G Mike Brodeur remains on the 21-day IR but has resumed skating drills... D Josh Caron and D Kyle Medvec are currently recalled to the Houston Aeros.

G Ken Reiter is second in the ECHL with a .929 save percentage... The Komets are 7-0-0-0 when leading after two periods... G Charlie Effinger recorded his second shutout of the year last night... D Daniel Maggio is second among ECHL defensemen with 90 PIM... RW Brandon Marino is tied for sixth in the ECHL with 27 points... Fort Wayne is 21st on the power play at 13.3% and 8th on the penalty kill at 83.9%.
