Orlando took a 5-3 victory over South Carolina in Orlando on Thursday, led by a hat trick effort from LW Nick Petersen. The Solar Bears lost in a shootout on Sunday at the Amway Center to the Greenville Road Warriors, but have still suffered just one loss in regulation. South Carolina has fallen in back-to-back games with the 5-3 loss in Orlando followed by a 6-4 defeat at the hands of the Everblades on October 26. Orlando is currently in a three-way tie for second in the South Division with Florida and Greenville, although the Solar Bears have played one fewer game than each of those team s.
Solar Bears Notes:
Orlando has earned at least one point in the standings for four straight games... C Ryan Cruthers, LW Nick Petersen, and C Mathew Sisca have all picked up at least one point in all six Orlando games... LW Nick Petersen currently leads the ECHL in points (14) and is tied for first in goals (6) in six games... The Solar Bears play four straight games on the road beginning tonight and ending on Saturday, November 3. Orlando returns home against Gwinnett on Wednesday, November 7.
Stingrays Notes:
South Carolina returns home for the first time since Sunday, October 21, a 5-2 loss against the Ontario Reign. The Stingrays are 2-1-0-0 on home ice this season... F Tyler McNeely and F Andrew Cherniwchan are tied for the team lead with eight points each. Cherniwchan is tied for third among all ECHL rookies in points (8).
