New England Revolution News Release

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution (3-1-2; 11 pts.) will host the New York Red Bulls (2-3-0; 6 pts.) on Saturday night at Gillette Stadium. The match kicks off at 8:00 p.m. ET and airs locally on WSBK-TV38 and myRITV. The contest is available on the radio on 98.5 The Sports Hub HD2 and 1260 AM Nossa Radio (Portuguese).

New England enters Week 6 of the MLS season in first place in the Eastern Conference following last Sunday's 1-0 win against the Columbus Crew. Off to a perfect 3-0-0 start at Gillette Stadium, a win on Saturday would give the Revolution victories in the season's first four home games for the second time in club history (2005). The Revs are riding a five-game winning streak across all competitions in Foxborough dating back to last season. The home teams have dominated the series between New England and the New York, as the Revolution own a 23-6-8 regular season record in Foxborough against the Red Bulls. In the 30 times these two MLS original clubs have met since 2008, the visiting team has won only twice.

Last weekend's 1-0 win marked New England's second clean sheet of the young season, as the backline has not allowed a goal from open play in 270 minutes at Gillette Stadium. Goalkeeper Matt Turner and defender Andrew Farrell, who help anchor the defensive unit, are joined by captain Carles Gil as the three Revolution players to have seen every minute of action this season. Gil registered his third assist of the season on Adam Buksa's game-winning goal in the 86th minute against Columbus. Tied for the second most helpers in MLS, Gil is also pacing the league in chances created, ranks second in dribbles completed, and third in touches. Buksa' goal was his team-leading second of the season and the team's first tally by a substitute in 2021.

Sporting Director and Head Coach Bruce Arena, who served as head coach of the Red Bulls from 2006-07 is 16-11-5 against his former team across all competitions. Arena's (19-11-18) next victory will be his 20th with New England in the regular season. His roster has a wealth of experience against New York, including Teal Bunbury's team-leading 20 career appearances, four goals, and five assists vs. the Red Bulls. Forward Gustavo Bou has scored twice in two career games against New York.
