
Dignity Health Sports Park to Host the 6th Edition of Campeón de Campeones on July 18

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - LIGA MX, in conjunction with TUDN, the multimedia sports brand of Univision Communications Inc., announced today that Campeón de Campeones, the emblematic Mexican championship match between the winners of the two most recent league tournaments, will return to Los Angeles in the sixth edition of the marquee event played in the United States on Sunday, July 18 at 4:00 p.m. PT.
For the fifth occasion, Campeón de Campeones will be played at Dignity Health Sports Park, home of Major League Soccer's most successful club, LA Galaxy, in Carson, Calif.
Tickets for the Campeón de Campeones match will go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 28 at 10 a.m. PT on axs.com and by calling 877.3GALAXY (342.5299). Fans may sign up for presale access, which will begin on Thursday, May 25, by visiting www.lagalaxy.com/cdcinterest.
The 2020 LIGA MX Apertura champion Club Leon will face off against the 2021 LIGA MX Clausura winner, which will be decided on Sunday, May 30, to determine the absolute champion of LIGA MX for the 2020-21 season.
The Campeón de Campeones match will broadcast live on Univision and TUDN, the No. 1 Spanish-language sports network in the U.S. The complete broadcast schedule on Univision networks will be announced at a later date.
The winner of Campeón de Campeones will move on to face the reigning MLS Cup champion Columbus Crew later this year in the third edition of Campeones Cup, the battle between the MLS and LIGA MX champions. Campeones Cup is scheduled for the week of September 27 and will be played at the New Crew Stadium, set to debut later this year in Columbus.
LIGA MX and TUDN have partnered with the LA Galaxy and Soccer United Marketing for the management of the event. Additional details about the event, including media accreditation for Campeón de Campeones, will be announced at a later date.
