Tonight, at CN Centre, the Prince George Cougars look to sweep opening weekend against the Tri-City Americans at 6:00 PM. The Cats are coming off a 5-1-win last night over Tri-City. Ephram McNutt, Carter MacAdams (2), Ondrej Becher, and Koehn Ziemmer all found the back of the net for Prince George, while Madden Mulawka got the victory in net, making 23 saves on 24 shots. Tonight's contest is slated for a 6:00 PM start, a new starting time for all Saturday games at CN Centre.

A COUPLE OF FIRSTS
Ephram McNutt and Ondrej Becher were both able to pot their first WHL goals in last night's victory. McNutt's started the scoring just over two minutes into the game to give Prince George an early lead. Becher, from Poruba, Czechia netted his first in the second period to give PG a 4-0 lead at the time. Becher and McNutt respectively were named the game's 2nd and 3rd star.
IN THE PIPES
It was another terrific start for rookie netminder Madden Mulawka. The Edmonton, AB product made 23 saves for his first career WHL victory. Dating back to the pre-season, Mulawka has only allowed two goals in 180 minutes of action. The 16-year-old has taken the crease for the last three games with Tyler Brennan and Ty Young still at their NHL Main Camps.

IAN FERGUSON
The 20-year-old defender from Missouri City, TX played a steady game on the back end for Tri-City, and got rewarded for the Americans first goal of the season. Ferguson finished the 2021-22 season with six points in 60 games. Ferguson has amassed over 112 WHL games, all with Tri-City.
