Last time they met: Last season Saskatoon went 2-1-1-0 against Edmonton with their most recent clash coming on Saturday February 2nd. In that matchup the Oil Kings came from a goal down in the 3rd period, tying the game within the final 3:09 of regulation through Conner McDonald before Trey Fix-Wolansky netted the winner 30 seconds into overtime. Nolan Maier had 31 saves in net for the Blades.

What it means for Saskatoon: Another measuring stick matchup - this time against the 1st placed team in the league. An upset win over the Oil Kings would help raise confidence amongst the young Blades.

The stat: 15 - the number of goals Edmonton have scored in their last three games. The high-powered Oil Kings lead the league in goal scoring with 56 markers through 14 games played - that's an average of four goals a game.

The match-up: Chase Wouters vs. Riley Sawchuk - each player leads their respective club in both goals scored & in face-off wins. If either of the these veteran centres have a big night they can potentially pick up their team on their back and carry them to victory with a fantastic individual effort at the face-off dot or on the scorers' sheet.

It's a big night for: Libor Zabransky - a healthy scratch for the first time of the season back on October 19th in Winnipeg, Zabransky has since registered a goal and two assists in his last two games. If the Euro vet can consistently contribute in the secondary scoring department and keep his own game clean, it will relax some of the pressure on Saskatoon's top two defenders to lead the way from the back end.
