Winnipeg Ice News Release

The Lethbridge Hurricanes continued their two game series against Winnipeg, ending the ICE's three game home winning streak at Wayne Fleming Arena with a final score of 8-2.

The Hurricane's top line, consisting of Dylan Cozens, Oliver Okuliar and D-Jay Jerome combined for 9 points, with Okuliar scoring a hat-trick and Cozens picking up a goal and three assists.

The Canes took the lead after the first period after Oliver Okuliar and Justin Hall made it 2-1 in favor of the visitors. Michal Teply got the lone goal in the first frame for the ICE.

Lethbridge continued to pile up the goals in the second, scoring 5 goals in the period, where Okuliar completed his hat-trick at 16:45. The ICE would add another goal from Cole Muir at 15:53 in the second period.

"It was a fast, hard game" said ICE coach James Patrick. "You had to move your feet, you had to have your head up, you had to get the puck moving right away, and you had to be strong".

Winnipeg starter Jesse Makaj was taken out after the second intermission after stopping 16 saves through two periods and was replaced by Dean McNabb who stopped 8 shots in relief.

It's a quick turnaround for the ICE as they host the Swift Current Broncos on Saturday night at 7:30p.m. at Wayne Fleming Arena.
