The Ice Flyers welcome the Fayetteville FireAntz for a pair of back to back games this weekend. The Antz come into the their Friday-Saturday set against the Ice Flyers with their backs against the wall as one more loss or a win for the Mississippi RiverKings tonight eliminates them from the playoff hunt. The two teams have met only once before this season on February 4th in Fayetteville and the Ice Flyer came out of eastern North Carolina with an 8-1 win. Chris Wilson potted 5 goals that night with Matt Robertson, Dan Buccella and Mike Carter all adding 1 each.

The Ice Flyers are still 4th in the SPHL standings with 56 points, but their lead has been cut to just one point over the ahead of the Surge as the Surge picked up 2 points in a win over the FireAntz last night. Fayetteville is in last place with 35 points. The Ice Flyers home record stands at 13-8-1 while the Antz are only 7-15-3 on the road.

Team Scope:

PENSACOLA - The Ice Flyers have won four of their last five games and earned a point in that one loss. Corey Milan's overall record now stands at 10-11-4 with a 3.27 goals against average and a 0.880 save percentage. With the Ice Flyers, he is 6-5-2 with a 2.66 GAA and a 0.902 SV%. Jesse Kallechy's overall record stands at 9-8-2 with a 3.11 GAA and a 0.907 SV%. With the Ice Flyers he is 3-0-0 with a 0.67 GAA and a 0.979 SV%. Chris Wilson's 50 points lead the team as do his 28 goals. Jordan Chong still leads the team in assists with 30.

The Ice Flyers' power play sits 2nd best in the SPHL at 19.82%. The Flyers have scored 45 power play tallies this season while only giving up 4 shorthanded goals. Pensacola's penalty kill is still in 5th at 83.51%. Pensacola has given up 31 power play goals against but the Ice Flyers have also managed to score 7 while shorthanded.

The Ice Flyers will again host the FireAntz tomorrow before playing host to the Columbus Cottonmouths on Tuesday.

FAYETTEVILLE - The Antz fell to the Mississippi Surge last night by a score of 4-1. In net the FireAntz have Mike Brown and Erik Hudson. Brown has an overall record of 15-24-5 to go along with a 3.77 GAA and a 0.895 SV%. Hudson's combined record stands at 1-3-0 with a 4.45 GAA and a 0.878 SV%. Chris Leveille lead the team with 59 points, 21 goals and 38 assists.

Fayetteville's power play is actually 4th best in the league at 17.55%, scoring 33 times on the power play goals. They have, however, allowed 9 shorthanded goals which is tied for most in the league. Their penalty kill is dead last in the SPHL at 77.41% having given up a league high 54 power play goals against. They have managed to score 5 shorthanded goals.

Fayetteville's weekend will be complete after tomorrow night's game in the Hangar. They'll return to action on Thursday against the Knoxville Ice Bears.
