Friday, December 2nd, the Ice Flyers will again take to the ice in the Columbus Civic Center. This will be the 4th meeting between the two teams this season with the Ice Flyers holding a 2-0-1 edge with 4-3 and 3-2 wins on October 21st and November 19th and a 3-2 OT loss on October 28th. All of the previous meetings have been in Columbus. Columbus currently sits in 3rd place in the SPHL with a record of 7-4-3 and Pensacola comes into the game with a record of 4-5-2.

Coach Gordon continued to tweak the roster this week.
The Ice Flyers traded defenseman Tyler Lyon to the Fayetteville FireAntz in exchange for the rights of defenseman Danny Markowitz. Markowitz appeared in 9 games for the Antz and had 2 goals, 4 assists, 2 penalty minutes, and a -2 rating. He is currently playing for the Alaska Aces of the ECHL and in 6 games for the Aces he has 1 assist, 7 penalty minutes, and an even rating.
The Ice Flyers also released Chris Campanale from his 3-game tryout contract.
Team Scope:
PENSACOLA - The Ice Flyers split last weekend with a 6-3 loss against the Augusta RiverHawks and then a 4-0 shutout win at home in new goalie Steve Christie's debut. With his win Saturday, Christie has a 0.00 goals against average, a 1.000 save percentage, and a 1-0-0 record. Adam Ward now has a 3-5-1, a 3.23 GAA, and a .882 save percentage. Jordan Chong and Dan Buccella lead the team with 10 points each. Matthew Robertson leads the team in goals with 6 and the team lead in assists is shared by Chris Wilson and Brit Ouellette with 6.
This game against Columbus will be the Ice Flyers' only game this weekend and the team will try to continue their climb in the SPHL standings.
COLUMBUS - The Cottonmouths played 3 games last weekend picking up one win and two losses. Friday night they hosted the Huntsville Havoc and gave their home fans a thrilling 3-2 OT win. Saturday they traveled to face the Louisiana IceGators and were handed a 4-2 loss. Finally on Sunday they traveled up to face the Mississippi RiverKings where they again lost this time with a 6-4 score line.
The Cottonmouths have split time evenly between the pipes so far this season. Andrew Loewen owns a record of 4-2-1 in 7 games played along with a 2.50 GAA and a 0.909 SV%. Ian Vigier has also played in 7 games with a 3-2-2 record, a 3.26 GAA, and a 0.874 SV%. The Snakes are led offensively by Levi Lind who has 12 points. Jordan Braid has the team lead with 7 goals and defenseman Bret Tyler leads the team in assists with 8.
Friday's game will be the first on the weekend for Columbus as they will also host the Mississippi Surge on Saturday, December 3rd.
