Traverse City Pit Spitters News Release

Kalamazoo, MI - The Traverse City Pit Spitters and Kalamazoo Growlers will have to wait almost a month before finishing Friday's game as it has been postponed due to weather.

The game will resume from where it left off when the Growlers travel to Traverse City for an August 6-7 series. When play resumes, the Pit Spitters will have runners on second and third, nobody out in the top of the fifth inning with an 11-3 lead.

The Pit Spitters scored seven runs in the first inning. The first eight batters reached safely to start the game. Colin Summerhill, Camden Traficante and Trey Truitt all doubled home two runs and Dallas Duarte doubled home one.

In the second, Traficante struck again for a two-run single. Another run would score to make it a 10-0 lead. Traficante took the team lead in RBIs, now sitting at 27 on the season.

After the Growlers scored two runs, Duarte delivered another RBI single. At the time of suspended play, Duarte was 3-3 with a double and two RBIs.

All but one Pit Spitter reached safely in the game so far and seven have scored a run.
