Traverse City Pit Spitters News Release

Kalamazoo, MI - The Traverse City Pit Spitters hit two home runs in a five-run eighth inning to stun the Kalamazoo Growlers in a 5-4 win Thursday.

The Growlers had the Pit Spitters held to one hit through the first seven innings. They had six hits of their own and four runs scored in those seven innings. They looked like they were cruising to a victory before the bats heated up in the eighth.

Dallas Duarte led off the inning with his first home run of the season. Three batters later, Jakob Marsee hit his first home run of the season to cut the lead to 4-3. After a single and walk, Camden Traficante singled home a run to tie the game at 4-4. He moved into a tie for most RBIs on the team. The lead run scored on an error from the Kalamazoo third baseman.
