Grey skies will not deter the Edmonton Cracker-Cats from beginning their brief three game home stand against the Winnipeg Goldeyes.
The 'Cats return from a six game road trip to Winnipeg and Kansas City with 4 wins under their belt. They have climbed to 2nd place in the Northern League's Western division and will look to add some breathing room between themselves and the third place Goldeyes who are just one game behind the hometown nine.
Tonight will be a battle of southpaws between the 'Cats' Geoff White (1-0) and Winnipeg's Glenn Bott (1-2). The series will continue Saturday with one of Edmonton's two three game winners, Brett Lawson (3-0) and the league's ERA leader Josh Beshears. The finale will be a 1:35 start on Sunday featuring Edmonton's Brad Bissell (2-2) opposed by David Glick (0-1).
SS Stubby Clapp is currently fourth in the Northern league in hitting (.352) and second in stolen bases (9). He along with hot hitting sluggers Greg Morrison, Derek Patterson, and Jeremy Ware, riding 5,4,and 3 game hit streaks respectively will pace the 'Cats offense this weekend.
Saturday night is Ladies Night where admission will be free for all women.
