Game Notes: November 25 vs Ft Wayne

Overview: The Cyclones welcome in the Ft. Wayne Komets on Wednesday night, in the front end of a Thanksgiving week home-and-home series between the two sides. The Cyclones enter Wednesday night having won four of their last six games, including their first shootout win of the season on Saturday.

Saturday Recap: The Cincinnati Cyclones (9-3-1-1) earned a 4-3 shootout win over the Orlando Solar Bears on Saturday night. Forwards Joe Wilson, Branden Gracel, and Jack Downing netted the goals in regulation for the Cyclones, who earn their first overtime or shootout win of the season. Cincinnati was outshot, 27-24 on the night, while the power play was held scoreless on all three attempts.

Friday Recap: The Cincinnati Cyclones (8-3-1-1) fell to the Indy Fuel, 2-1, on Friday night. Forward Joe Wilson netted the lone goal for the Cyclones, who lose their first game at home in regulation. Goaltender Brad Thiessen stopped 26 of the 28 shots he faced, while the power play was held scoreless on its only chance.

Tuesday Morning Recap: The Cincinnati Cyclones (8-2-1-1) picked up a 3-1 win over the Alaska Aces on Tuesday Morning. Forwards Christiaan Minella, Nick Huard, and Peter Quenneville netted the goals for the Cyclones. Huard also added an assist to extend his point streak to six games. Goaltender Brad Thiessen was solid in net, stopping 30 of the 31 shots he faced to earn the win. Cincinnati was outshot, 31-26 on the night, while the power play converted on 1-of-2 opportunities.

Previewing Ft. Wayne: The Komets enter Tuesday's game having dropped two straight, and four of their last five. They currently sit in fourth place in the Midwest Division, six points behind the Cyclones. Mike Embach leads all active players on the Komet roster with 13 points (6g, 7a). He's followed by defenseman Jordan Southorn (5g, 5a), and forward Garrett Thompson (2g, 8a) who each have 10 points.

Inside the Series: This is the third of 10 meetings between the Cyclones and Komets this season. The Cyclones have won both meetings this season, outscoring Ft. Wayne, 8-2 in those contests. The Cyclones posted a 4-1-1-4 record against the Komets last season, and hold a 10-7-3-5 record in the all-time series.
