A One-Sided Offensive Explosion

The Williamsport Crosscutters scored six runs on four hits in the eighth inning and won the first game of the series 9-2. Crosscutters' right fielder Dylan Cozens went 1 for 3 with a double and two sacrifice flies while designated hitter Andrew Knapp went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and two doubles of his own.

Oh My, Mr. Breen!

Jared Breen doubled in his first at bat last night and extended his hitting streak to 15 games. He is now tied with Joe Nowicki for second place in IronBirds' history. The record for longest hitting streak is 17 games, a mark set by Brandon Fahey, in the IronBirds' inaugural season back in 2002.

See You At The Top

Crosscutters' starting pitcher Drew Anderson recorded his third win of the year and is now tied for the team lead in wins with starting pitcher Mitch Gueller. Anderson pitched five innings and allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits while striking out five.

We're Back For Round Two

The Williamsport Crosscutters and the Aberdeen IronBirds play the second game of a three game set today. After last night's loss, the IronBirds are now 9-3 to begin the month of July. This is the only time these two teams will play each other this season. On games played on Sunday this season, the IronBirds are 2-1. The IronBirds are six runs shy of 100 runs total for the entire season.

On the mound tonight...

RHP Janser Severino will get the start for the IronBirds tonight. He is 0-1, with a 2.25 ERA. He last pitched Tuesday in Tri-City, where the IronBirds would win 8-2 in 10 innings. Severino went five innings, allowed three hits, two runs, and one walk, while striking out 5. He will be opposed by RHP Jon Prosinski. Prosinski is 1-1 on the season with a 3.65 ERA. He won his last outing, where he went five innings without allowing a run. He also struck out four and did not surrender a walk. This will be his fifth start of the season.

What Off Day?!

After the three game series with the Crosscutters, the IronBirds will use the off day to travel to Vermont, as they hit the road for six games.
