CT Tigers Complete Comeback

Norwich, CT - The Connecticut Tigers (11-16) completed an amazing comeback by defeating the Brooklyn Cyclones (11-16) by a score of 6-4 Sunday evening at Dodd Stadium. The big hit of the game came in the eighth inning by Tigers LF Kasey Coffman (2-5) who ripped an RBI double down the left field line that scored Curt Powell (4-4) to put the Tigers in front 5-4.

The Tigers trailed 4-0 entering the sixth inning and tied the game with four runs in the inning. Powell started it off with an RBI single that scored C Duncan McAlpine (0-3) to make the score 4-1. Coffman came up with two on and hit a two run single to left field that scored 3B Brett Harrison (0-3) and Curt Powell to make the game 4-3. 2B Dominic Ficociello (0-4) walked with the bases loaded that allowed CF Austin Schotts to score (0-3) to tie the game at 4-4.

Powell had himself an amazing performance at the plate this evening. Powell had four singles along with an RBI and two runs scored. Coming into the game, Powell was only 1-26 at the plate and broke out of the slump with a four hit performance.

The Tigers and Cyclones wrap up their three-game series tomorrow morning 11:05 a.m. In game two of the series Connecticut RHP Jonathon Crawford (0-1, 1.74) is slated to face off against Brooklyn LHP Carlos Valdez (1-2, 3.38). Tomorrow is Camp Day at Dodd Stadium with a special game time at 11:05 a.m. It's Kids Eat Free day presented by US Foods and The Day. Each child ticket (12 & under) will receive a voucher for a hot dog, bag of chips, bottle of water, and an apple! Also don't forget Social Media Monday.
