MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Game five of the Montgomery Biscuits (55-50/27-16) vs the Biloxi Shuckers (56-54/22-21) was suspended due to rain in the top of the fifth inning. The remainder of the game will resume tomorrow at 1:30 PM CT. The series finale will resume approximately 30 minutes at the conclusion of game five.

In game five, Biscuit's starter, Evan McKendry (0-4) opened his start to the evening a little rocky. After striking out center fielder Corey Ray, McKendry surrendered a two-run home run in the first that cleared the moving train in left field. The moonshot put the Shuckers up 2-0.

On the other end, Shuckers' starter, Nick Bennett (6-9) saw himself dig deep into a hole to start as he loaded the bases with no outs. He allowed the first run as he hit Kyle Manzardo with a pitch to bring Brett Wisely home and cut the lead in half 2-1. The Biscuits were able to tie the game, 2-2 after a walk by Bennett. Outfielder Jordan Qsar was able to put Montgomery ahead, 3-2 as he grounded out to first, and Osleivis Basabe scored.

After fighting off a few foul balls, Diego Infante smacked a deep two-run RBI-single that grew the lead to 5-2 still in the first inning. On the first pitch, Roberto Alvarez delivered a stand-up RBI-double to make it six unanswered runs for the Biscuits as they went up 6-2. Basabe was able to drive in another two runs and make it 8-2 after an RBI-single and a throwing error by Shuckers' shortstop Cam Devanney.

After two powerful foul balls, it was third times the charm as Manzardo connected for the first home run of his Double-A career off Kent Hasler in the bottom of the second. The solo home run put the Biscuits up 9-2. After Jordan Qsar outran a throwing error by Shuckers' second baseman Felix Valerio, Diego Infante brought him home to make it 10-2.

In the bottom of the fourth, Evan Edwards broke his 0-for-7 cold spell as he delivered a solo home run to left center that extended the lead to 11-2.

After fighting off rain in the second inning, the lights to left and right field along with the scoreboard were knocked out of power. Soon after the heavy rain came in and put the game under a weather delay.

At the conclusion of game five, the Biscuits and Shuckers will play the series finale when LHP John Doxakis (2-5) faces RHP TJ Shook (3-1) for Kids Backpack Giveaway presented By Whataburger & Bark in the Park at 3:33 PM CT.
