Game Day Preview: Allen at Colorado
December 16, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Allen Americans News Release
Head-To-Head - The Allen Americans won the only meeting at Budweiser Events Center back in late October. Casey Pierro-Zabotel scored the game winner, shorthanded, that night. The two clubs will play two more times in Allen after the first of the year.
On top of the World - Chad Costello again leads the ECHL in points with 34. He had a goal and an assist in Sunday's overtime loss to Idaho.
Riley all the way - With Joel Rumpel on the shelf for a bit with an injury, it's expected that Riley Gill will see a bulk of the upcoming action. The Americans have signed Nolan Bowker to an Emergency Goalie deal. Bowker, a former junior league goalie in Canada, serves as the team's Equipment Manager.
Nikkel Suspended - Americans defenseman Ayrton Nikkel has been suspended by the team. He had one point and 40 penalty minutes in 18 games this season for Allen.
Top Flight Rookie - Eric Roy is second on the team in points with 17 points this season, and is just outside the top ten in the league for rookie scoring at number 11.
Colorado Eagle Notes - The Eagles have won three straight games and are 3-2-0 in their last five contests. Former Allen Americans netminder Eric Levine earned a 4-0 shutout win over Wichita in Colorado's last game.
Climb the Highest Mountain - The Allen Americans will play three games in the Mountain Time Zone this week, with a game tonight in Colorado, and two this weekend in Boise, Idaho.
Around The ECHL - Rapid City Rush forward Mikhail Stefanovich was named the Sherwood/ECHL Player of the Week, for the week of December 7th -13th. Stefanovich had a hat trick in back to back games last week for Rapid City.
