Our Eastern Conference Semi-Final series against the Bulldogs continues tonight at the Meridian Centre!
Before the game, from 6:00-7:00pm, join us between the William parkette for a pre-game tailgate party! We'll have kids activities including a puck toss contest, a puck stack relay and sidewalk chalk, and a photo booth!
Despite disappointing overtime losses in the first and second games of this series, the boys came back with an exciting Game 3 overtime win! Kirill Maksimov played hero, showing that third time is a charm in OT, for us. Getting the first goal tonight and establishing a lead will be key for the IceDogs in this important Game Four.
We've had 5 different goal scorers this series, with Ben Jones leading the way with 3 goals. In 2017-2018, Ben Jones has scored 9 goals against the Bulldogs. Akil Thomas leads the team with 11 points (5 goals, 6 assists), in the playoffs. He's followed closely by Sam Miletic, who has 10 points (4 goals, 6 assists). Hamilton's Brandon Saigeon ranks 4th in league playoff goals scored with 8.
Stephen Dhillon continues to rank amongst the top in the league with a goals against average of 2.74, and leads all goalies still active in the OHL Playoffs with a save percentage of .929. The Bulldogs' Fulcher ranks 2nd in the league with a goals against average of 2.63.
Our 2nd ranked penalty kill, first amongst teams remaining in the playoffs, with an efficiency rating of 83.3%, is facing the Bulldogs' 1st ranked powerplay, which has a 40.0% efficiency rating. Our 8th ranked powerplay, 30.9% efficient in the post-season, is facing the Bulldogs' 8th ranked penalty kill, 72.2% efficient. - On Monday night, we forced a Game 5, to be played back in Hamilton on Thursday night! We're sending fan buses down the QEW to show Hamilton which 'Dogs team has the best fans! To join us tomorrow night, contact Brianne in the Business Office!
