The Winterhawks look to bounce back from a 3-2 overtime loss in Game 1 of the best-of-seven series against the Everett Silvertips. Carter Sotheran's fifth goal of the 2025 WHL Playoffs, presented by Nutrien tied the game at two. Portland aims for another road split, just like it did in Prince George in Round 1.

Short memories
Portland needs to flush Game 1 from its brain quickly and be ready to rock and roll on Saturday. A road split is still on the table, and a bounce-back effort in Game 2 is required. The Winterhawks battled hard in Game 1, but had stretches of play where they spent too much time in their own zone and were on the penalty kill for 40% of the frame.
One of the stories of the playoffs so far for Portland has been getting offense from the blue line. The trend continued on Friday with both Winterhawks goals coming from rear guards. Tyson Jugnauth's third of the playoffs, and WHL-leading 17th point, opened the scoring. After Everett took the lead 2-1, Carter Sotheran tied the game seconds after a power play expired.
Four posts were hit by Portland shooters on Friday, so plenty of scoring chances were created.
