One final chance against Everett...
If not now, then never (or at least this season).
The Winterhawks and Silvertips meet for the final time this season tonight, the first conclusion of a season series for Portland to date. It's been five games, five wins for Everett, which is a testament to their strengths, but also not entirely reflective of the efforts provided by the Hawks. Including Tuesday night, Portland has played some of its best games of the season against the 'Tips, but Everett having the best goaltender in the U.S. has trumped all of what they've been able to do.
What's at stake?
A U.S. Division Title.
Well, for one side. With a win tonight the Silvertips can clinch the top spot - which is pretty remarkable given that the 'Hawks still have six games to play after tonight. Alas, even if they'd win all six, they'd still lose the head-to-head with Everett. So, while the battles this season haven't gone the way of Portland this year, it would be nice to play spoiler, even if it's just for a night.
Jack's Back, Part Two?
Maybe.
Forward Jack O'Brien did not make his season Tuesday night despite being eligible. He may tonight, however, he is only eligible to play in six games and entering tonight, the team has seven. Status regarding Cross Hanas, Clay Hanus and James Stefan - O'Brien's teammates whom he played with in Lincoln (USHL) to start the season, is still uncertain and it could be that the four of them play all six together. We'll see tonight!
