It was a battle early on in the game with both teams scoring goals back to back to tie the score at 2-2 going into the second period. During the second period, Allen would jump out in front thanks to a goal from Alex Ranger, his first with the Americans. Going into the final period, the Americans had a 3-2 lead that would not hold up as Wichita scored early on the power play to tie the game. 60 minutes of play would not do it as it went to Overtime and eventually the shootout where the Americans would fall to the Thunder by a score of 5-4.
