TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The Thunder and Monarchs have yet to faceoff this season with this weekend's series being Opening Weekend for the ECHL. The two teams are set to square off 14 times this season, including seven meetings in New Hampshire.

THE BOYS ARE BACK: The Thunder currently have several familiar faces on their roster with 12 contracted players who skated with the team during the 2015-16 season (Greg Wolfe, Terrence Wallin, James Henry, Peter MacArthur, Dana Fraser, Gunnar Hughes, Alex Carrier, Patch Alber, Mathieu Brodeur, Mike Bergin,Conor Riley, Alex Wall & Kevin Lough);

UP IN FLAMES: The Thunder currently have two Calgary Flames draft picks on their roster, defenseman Stepan Falkovsky and goaltender Mason McDonald. Falkovsky, a seventh round pick by Calgary in the 2014 draft, signed an AHL contract with the Stockton Heat last week and was assigned to the Thunder over the weekend. McDonald, a second round selection by the Flames in 2014, signed with Calgary in July 2015 and was assigned to Adirondack yesterday to begin his first professional season. Forward Brett Pollock was a second round draft pick of the Dallas Stars in 2014 and was acquired by Calgary last season as a part of the Kris Russell trade.

LIFE IN THE FAST MAC-LEAN: Adirondack Thunder Head Coach Cail MacLean returns to the team for his second season behind the bench. MacLean led the Thunder to the Kelly Cup Playoffs in his first season as Head Coach in 2015-16, as his team posted 38 victories and 82 points. MacLean is currently entering his fourth season as an ECHL Head Coach, including two seasons with the South Carolina Stingrays. MacLean has reached the postseason in each of his three previous seasons as a Head Coach and has a Kelly Cup ring as an assistant coach with South Carolina in 2009.

TY-ING THE KNOT: The Thunder welcome forward Ty Loney to the team this season, after he split the 2015-16 campaign between the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the AHL and the Wheeling Nailers in the ECHL. In Wheeling, Loney reached the Kelly Cup Finals as he netted 18 points (7-11-18) in 26 playoff games. Loney's seven playoff goals were third amongst all rookie skaters, while his 18 points were fourth most. The Valencia, PA native had a flair for the dramatic in postseason play, as he collected a point in each of Wheeling's three series clinching wins during their playoff run.

DEVILISH DUO: Adirondack defensemen Mathieu Brodeur and Patch Alber both returned to the Thunder from Albany Devils training camp last night. Brodeur (70) and Alber (64) each skated the majority of the 2015-16 season with Adirondack with the two blueliners tying for the team lead in points from the blueline with 30 apiece. While Alber has yet to appear in an AHL regular season game, Brodeur has 247 AHL games under his belt, including two last season with Albany.
