ADIRONDACK THUNDER ANNOUNCE OPENING NIGHT ROSTER

Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, have announced their roster to open the 2016-17 regular season, consisting of 12 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders.

Forwards (12): Mikkel Aagaard, Alex Carrier, Dana Fraser, James Henry, Gunnar Hughes, Phil Lane, Ty Loney, Peter MacArthur, Brett Pollock, Terrence Wallin, Brian Ward and Greg Wolfe

Defensemen (8): Patch Alber, Mike Bergin, Roman Dyukov, Mathieu Brodeur, Stepan Falkovsky, Kevin Lough, Conor Riley and Alex Wall

Goaltenders (2): Brody Hoffman and Mason McDonald

The Thunder's Opening Night Roster consists of 13 players who saw time with the Thunder during the 2015-16 season, including forwards Greg Wolfe and Peter MacArthur, who finished the season second and third respectively on the team in scoring. The Thunder also return their two top scorers from the blueline, Patch Alber and Mathieu Brodeur, who finished the season tied for the team amongst defensemen with 30 points each.

Veterans Ty Loney and Brody Hoffman also bring professional experience to the Thunder roster . Loney spent a part of last season with the Wheeling Nailers, where he participated in the Kelly Cup Finals, while Hoffman skated with the Quad City Mallards.

Adirondack boast 782 games of AHL experience throughout their roster, led by Brodeur (247), Lane (218) and MacArthur (190). Forwards Loney (36), Carrier (18), Wolfe (12), Hughes (3), Pollock (3) and Ward (1) have all seen time at the AHL level during their careers.

Rounding out the Thunder's Opening Night Roster are six rookie players, including 2014 Calgary Flames draft picks Mason McDonald and Stepan Falkovsky, as well as 2014 Dallas Stars second round pick Brett Pollock, who was acquired via trade by Calgary last season. Mikkel Aagaard and Roman Dyukov come to the team on AHL contracts from the Thunder's AHL Affiliate, the Stockton Heat, while Ward joins the professional ranks after a career at St. Lawrence University.

The Thunder open the 2016-17 regular season tonight as they take on the Manchester Monarchs for the first of two road games at SNHU Arena. Puck drop tonight is slated for 7:00 p.m. while tomorrow's game begins at 6:00 p.m.
