Oklahoma City Comets News Release
Oklahoma City - Catcher Rocky Gale belted two home runs onto the Budweiser Deck in left field Saturday night to guide the Oklahoma City Dodgers to a 4-1 win against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox and remain undefeated at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark this season.
With the win, the Dodgers improved to 14-0 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark to continue their best-ever home start since the ballpark opened in 1998.
Their 14 consecutive wins in Bricktown are tied for the second-longest home winning streak for an Oklahoma City team since rejoining the PCL in 1998, matching their 2012 streak of 14 straight home wins May 10-June 7.
The Dodgers also improved to 21-6 overall, posting 21 wins through 27 games for the first time since 1998.
Gale gave the Dodgers the early lead with his first homer of the night in the second inning. His homer out to left field led off the bottom of the inning and boosted OKC to a 1-0 lead.
A one-out RBI double by Colorado Springs' Nate Orf in the fifth inning knotted the game, 1-1, in front of a crowd of 8,947.
Jake Peter's RBI single in the seventh inning broke the tie and put the Dodgers in front, 2-1, in the seventh inning.
Later in the inning, a two-out RBI single into right field by Alex Burg extended the Dodgers' lead to 3-1.
Gale connected on his second homer of the night - and fourth of the season - in the eighth inning for his first career multi-homer game to extend OKC's lead to 4-1.
Dodgers reliever Edward Paredes (2-2) pitched 1.1 shutout innings with two walks and two strikeouts and was credited with the win. Brian Schlitter retired the side in the top of the ninth inning for his league-leading seventh save of the season.
Erik Davis (1-4) was charged with the loss for the Sky Sox (18-10), allowing two runs and three hits over the sixth and seventh innings.
OKC's four-game series against Colorado Springs continues at 2:05 p.m. tomorrow on a Chaparral Energy Family Sunday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, featuring pregame player autographs, a mascot meet-and-greet, face painters, inflatables and postgame kids run the bases.
Live coverage begins 15 minutes before first pitch on AM 1340 "The Game," 1340thegame.com, or through the free iHeartRadio mobile app.
Tickets are available through the OKC Dodgers ticket office located on South Mickey Mantle Drive, by phone at (405) 218-2182, or by visiting okcdodgers.com.
