
Galaxy announce second annual "Galaxy Week" begins Monday, March 29

CARSON, CA (Thursday, March 25, 2004) - With the Los Angeles Galaxy's ninth Major League Soccer season just 11 days away, the organization today released a schedule of events for second annual GALAXY WEEK, which will kick off on Monday, March 29 and runs through the home opener on April 3.
""Galaxy Week" is our club's annual build-up to the season opener and celebration of "all things soccer", featuring a variety of events reaching out to the Southern California soccer community," said Galaxy President & General Manager Doug Hamilton. "We plan on this becoming a tradition for years to come."
Major League Soccer's opening day is Saturday, April 3, when defending 2002 MLS Cup Champion Los Angeles Galaxy take on the New England Revolution at 7 p.m. at The Home Depot Center. In addition, the game will be televised live locally on KWHY CH. 22. Following the game, all fans in attendance will be treated to a special "Opening Night" fireworks spectacular above the stadium.
MONDAY, MARCH 29 2004 L.A. GALAXY MEDIA CUP - 10:30 AM
The ninth-annual Los Angeles Galaxy Media Cup will take place on Monday, March 29 beginning at 10:30am at The Home Depot Center stadium field. Members of the media play a full field (11 v 11), 60 minute just-for-fun soccer match.
SEASON TICKET HOLDER BBQ WITH L.A. GALAXY - 6:30PM
Monday evening the club will host a special season ticket holder barbeque. Located on the main plaza, Galaxy season ticket holders will have a unique chance to visit with the entire 2004 Galaxy team and coaching staff in the shadows of one of the world's finest soccer stadiums. There will be a brief presentation from President & GM Doug Hamilton, and Head Coach Sigi Schmid.
TUESDAY, MARCH 30 INTERNATIONAL COACHES CLINIC: BEGINS AT 9AM
Galaxy Head Coach Sigi Schmid joins former US & Cal South ODP Coach Steve Sampson as they host the first ever International Soccer Coaches Clinic at The Home Depot Center. The package includes: Access to the Galaxy 9 a.m. practice session, access to the Mexican and Costa Rican National Team practices in the afternoon (time TBD), one pass for the coaching session (which will include a Mexican National Team coach to be named). The session will run from 1-4 p.m. plus participants will receive: one Endline ticket to the Mexico vs. Costa Rica Game on March 31st and one Endline ticket to the Galaxy Season Opener on April 3rd for $50. EAST LA COLLEGE TO HOST GALAXY "PEP RALLY" AND CLINIC FOR BOYS & GIRLS CLUB: 6:00-7:30 PM
Tuesday, March 30, the entire Los Angeles Galaxy team will be participating in a "Pep Rally" and free clinic for the Boys n Girls Club of East Los Angeles and West San Gabriel Valley from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at East Los Angeles College on 1301 Avenida Cesar Chavez ion Monterey Park, CA. The first 1,00 fans in attendance will receive a free Galaxy Bobblehead and help cheer on Galaxy players. The clinic will feature four different stations focusing on Small Sided Games, Passing & Trapping, Dribbling & Juggling, and other games. This clinic is sponsored by KFC.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 31 "GALAXY HOME OPENER" RECEIVES OFFICIAL PROCLAMATION - 10:00 AM
Los Angeles City Councilwoman Jan Perry of the Ninth Council District will be presenting the Galaxy with a proclamation in honor of "Galaxy Week" and the club's 2004 Home Opener at City Hall in downtown Los Angeles. Galaxy President/General Manager Doug Hamilton will join Councilwoman Perry at City Hall at 10:00 a.m. for the Los Angeles City Council meeting to accept the proclamation.
MEXICO VS. COSTA RICA - 8:00 PM
Wednesday, March 31, The Home Depot Center will feature an international friendly between Mexico and Costa Rica prior to the L.A. Galaxy's home opener vs. the New England Revolution on April 3 at 7pm. Galaxy broadcast partner Radiovisa 830 am "Asi Se Habla" (5-8pm), and media partners KWKW 1330 AM (2-5pm) and KQUE "Que Buena" (3-5pm) will all be broadcasting live from main plaza inside The Home Depot Center. All three stations will have a special on-air visit from Galaxy forwards Carlos Ruiz and Arturo Torres, and midfielder Guillermo Gonzalez.
THURSDAY, APRIL 1 GALAXY HOST KMXE's "WIN A SEAT CONTEST" - ALL DAY
Thursday, April 1 will feature a unique opportunity that is no "April Fool's Joke"
for die-hard Galaxy fans, to compete for a pair of Los Angeles Galaxy season seats
for the entire 2004 MLS season at The Home Depot Center, plus a pair of tickets to
the 2004 MLS Cup. Not a contest for the faint of heart, this will be a true test of
dedication for eight lucky fans. Fans will start at the top of different sections
throughout the lower bowl and try to sit in all of the designated seats as soon as
possible, having at most 16 hours (7am-11pm) to complete the task. The Grand Prize
Winner will be the person who completes the feat the quickest, or if time runs out
the person who sat in the most number of seats. Fans interested in competing for the

GALAXY "PUB CRAWL" ON PINE STREET IN LONG BEACH - 5:00 PM
Thursday, April 1, the Galaxy will be hosting the club's first ever "Galaxy Pub Crawl" featuring Fun, Friends and Cocktails on Pine Avenue in downtown Long Beach, CA. Fans are invited to kick off the festivities at 5pm at the Camden Harbor View Apartments, a new official sponsor of the Galaxy, located at 40 Cedar Walk, Long Beach, CA 90802. Below is the complete schedule in order of stops on the "Pub Crawl".
6-7 pm: Alegria Cocina Latina at 115 Pine Avenue
7-8 pm: Rock Bottom Brewery at One Pine Avenue
8-9 pm: New York Bryan's at 213 A Pine Avenue
9-10 pm: Wasabi at 200 Pine Ave.
Directions: Take the 710 South and stay to the left as you get towards Long Beach. Follow signs towards Broadway and stay left. Turn into Broadway. Make a right on Magnolia (second light) and follow a quarter mile or so and make left on Ocean. Camden Harbor View will be on the right almost immediately. If you cross Pine, you went too far.
FRIDAY, APRIL 2 L.A. GALAXY FINAL TRAINING SESSION - 10:00 AM
Friday, April 2, the L.A. Galaxy will be training at The Home Depot Center beginning at 10am. The team will be making their final preparations for the club's home opener on Saturday, April 3 vs. the New England Revolution at 7pm in The Home Depot Center. Fans are encouraged to come out and cheer on their team throughout the club's final training session before the home opener on Saturday.
SATURDAY, APRIL 5 MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER OPENING DAY - 7:30 PM
Finally, on Saturday, April 3, Major League Soccer's ninth season begins, with the season opener vs. the New England Revolution 7 p.m. at The Home Depot Center.
