New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, MA - The New England Revolution today announced the team's local television schedule for the 2004 MLS season. The Revolution has always been at the forefront of professional soccer television and every Revs match since the club's inception in 1996 has been televised. In 2004, fans will again be able to see every Revolution match on television.
WB56 and Fox Sports Net New England will once again be the primary carriers of Revolution soccer, ensuring quality telecasts and maximum exposure. This is the fifth year that WB56 will broadcast Revolution games and the seventh year for Fox Sports Net New England.
The Revs season opens on April 3 against the Los Angeles Galaxy at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. The match will be televised live at 10:00 p.m. ET on Fox Sports Net New England.
In 2004, the Revs return team MVP Taylor Twellman, who shared the MLS league lead in goal scoring last season. Also returning, Revs' all-time leading scorer Joe-Max Moore, 2003 rookie sensation Pat Noonan, star goalkeeper Adin Brown and dynamic playmaker José Cancela.
Revolution broadcasting veterans Adrian Healey and Brad Feldman will once again team up to bring fans an informed and exciting call of the game.
Healey is back for a third season as the play-by-play voice of the Revs and is entering his seventh year as an announcer for the team. Feldman will again provide color analysis; this is his fourth season as a Revolution broadcaster.
Also this season, six Revolution regular season games will be carried nationally on ESPN2 as part of the MLS national television package. The Revolution are also committed to the best live game radio coverage and again this season the 50,000-watt market leader Sportsradio 850AM WEEI will again be the primary carrier for Revs radio. Conflicting games will be broadcast on WEEI's sister station, WRKO 680AM. All WEEI and WRKO games can also again be heard streaming live on revolutionsoccer.net.
Revs fans can also watch the Revolution at select restaurants, sports bars and pubs around New England that are designated as official Revolution viewing destinations. The team's official website, revolutionsoccer.net, will have full listings of these establishments; or, call 1-877-GET-REVS for information.
Soccer fans also have three different options for acquiring the MLS Direct Kick package (formerly MLS Shootout) for the 2004 campaign, as satellite TV providers DIRECTV and DISH Network, along with digital cable provider iN DEMAND, will combine to each present a full menu of well over 100 MLS regional telecasts in 2004 including Revolution games.
