CARSON, CA (Monday, March 15, 2004) - La Opinión, the largest Spanish language newspaper in the country, today also became the "Official Spanish Language Newspaper of the Los Angeles. Galaxy" during the 2004 and 2005 Major League Soccer seasons, the club and the newspaper have announced.

"We are extremely pleased to partner with La Opinión for the 2004 and 2005 seasons," said Los Angeles Galaxy President/General Manager Doug Hamilton. "Our partnership will include a number of exciting promotions, as well as quality communication with Latino communities throughout Southern California. No other newspaper reaches these communities in such a meaningful and in-depth way. The newspaper's timely, accurate soccer coverage in the Golazo section is, quite simply, unmatched. The Galaxy looks forward to continuing the work we started with La Opinión in 1996, when this club began."

Monica Lozano, Publisher and CEO of La Opinión, also expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. "The Galaxy provides incredible entertainment and athleticism to the people of Southern California. The club's community spirit certainly matches its sportsmanship, and we are excited about continuing our work with the Galaxy to encourage kids to get involved in sports and to provide Latino families with affordable recreation, as La Opinión has done for the past 77 years."

Under the provisions of the agreement, La Opinión will be branding and promoting the recently created General Admission section, "La Doce - the 12th Man," in the north end of the stadium at The Home Depot Center for all Galaxy home games. In addition to lending their name to this area of the stands, La Opinión will be offering families of four the chance to sit in the section at substantial savings if they purchase their tickets in advance, giving Latino families in Southern California the chance to watch high-quality MLS action at an extremely affordable price.

La Opinión was founded in 1926, with the goal of providing quality news and timely information to a small Hispanic population in the Los Angeles region. Over the years, the Hispanic population has grown to become the largest in the nation. La Opinión has grown along with the community, and is now the country's leading Spanish-language daily newspaper. The newspaper is distributed throughout the five-county Southern California area and reaches over 427,800 readers on a daily basis. La Opinión also publishes La Opinión Digital, a top news and information website for U.S. Hispanics.

La Opinión is owned and operated by impreMedia LLC, the first national Spanish-language newspaper company. impreMedia also owns El Diario/La Prensa in New York.
