Hudson Valley Renegades News Release

WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - James Nelson and Kyle MacDonald used the long ball to propel the Hudson Valley Renegades to a 3-2 victory over the Jersey Shore BlueClaws at Dutchess Stadium on Tuesday night.

Nelson homered in the fourth to tie the game at one. He added an RBI single in the sixth to extend the Gades lead to 3-1. Kyle MacDonald homered in the fifth to open a 2-1 lead for Hudson Valley.

Jhony Brito led the way on the mound for the Renegades. The righthander went five innings, allowing an unearned run on three hits with one walk and four strikeouts to earn the win. He's 1-1 on the year. Elvis Peguero pitched three scoreless innings for the Gades.

Jersey Shore made things interesting in the ninth as Tanner Myatt walked the bases loaded and let a run score on a wild pitch. Conversely, he struck out the side, including the last two with the tying and go-ahead runs in scoring position. Myatt earned his first save.

The two teams play game two of the six-game set tomorrow night at Dutchess Stadium at 7:05 p.m.
