
Full Week of Events Lead into 2012 Labour Day Classic

It has become an end-of-summer tradition and, for many fans, the true start of the CFL season.
The Calgary Stampeders will play host to the Edmonton Eskimos on Sept. 3 for the Labour Day Classic (kickoff at 2:30 p.m.).
This year, the Stampeders are proud to turn the Labour Day Classic into a full week of events. Stamps fans will have ample opportunity to meet their favourite players, win their way into McMahon Stadium for the big game and even engage with Stamps running back Jon Cornish in the team's first Twitter Q and A.
The week of events will conclude with Stampeders Fan Day, which will take placefollowing the team's walkthrough practice on Sunday, Sept. 2. Stamps fans are invited to McMahon for an autograph session, interactive displays and a barbecue.
"We want this year's Labour Day Classic to be bigger and better than ever," said Lyle Bauer, president and COO of the Stampeders. "And that's why we're giving our fans many opportunities to engage with their favourite players and the club. We hope to see a lot of fans decked out in red and white at our events over the course of Labour Day week."

Jayman annual Labour Day Classic BBQ
When: Sunday, Aug. 26 from 1-4 p.m.
Where: 7 Evansridge Cres. NW
Who: Members of the Stampeders and Jayman staff
Details: Fans in attendance will have the chance to win a great prize pack that includes four tickets to the Labour Day Classic, limousine transportation to and from the game, pre-game sideline access, two autographed jerseys and two Game Face T-shirts
Twitter Q and A with Jon Cornish
When: Friday, Aug. 31 from 1:30-2 p.m.
Where: Online
Who: Stampeders running back Jon Cornish
Details: Cornish will take questions from fans via Twitter. Fans can get in on the action using the hashtag #StampsQA
A lucky fan will win his/her way into the Labour Day Classic
Stampeders Fan Day
When: Sunday, Sept. 2 from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m.
Where: McMahon Stadium
Details: It's the day before game day and the Stamps want to see plenty of fans in attendance for walkthrough. The team will hold walkthrough from 10:30-11:15 a.m., with an autograph and photo session to follow. Bring your appetite as the club will put on a complimentary barbecue.
