Cauchy Muamba Collects Canadian Player of the Week Honours
August 21, 2012 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
B.C. Lions News Release
(Vancouver) In the wake of the BC Lions' convincing 24-5 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday, the CFL has named safety Cauchy Muamba its Canadian Player of the Week.
The third-year Leo sparked a Lions defence with two key interceptions that snuffed out Saskatchewan drives and helped preserve the club's 13-quarter run of not surrendering a touchdown. In addition to Sunday marking Muamba's first multi-interception game of his career, it was also the first time a Lion notched two interceptions in one game since Ryan Phillips picked off a pair of Darian Durant passes in October 2010.
The Lions travel to Winnipeg on Friday, August 24th to take on the Blue Bombers at 5:00 pm (PT). Fans can catch all the action on the home of the Lions, TEAM 1410 (pregame show starts at 3:00 pm).
The next BC Lions home game is Saturday, September 8th versus the Montreal Alouettes at 1:00 pm presented by TELUS. Single game tickets for BC Lions regular season games are available by calling 1.855.GO.LIONS or visiting bclions.com.
