
Frostbite ink defenseman Vychodil

Glens Falls, NY â The Adirondack Frostbite, member of the United Hockey League (UHL), today invited defenseman David Vychodil to training camp, it was announced by Frostbite Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Marc Potvin. This will be Vychodil's first full season in Adirondack after being picked up from the Winston-Salem T-Bird of the South East Hockey League (SEHL) last year. As per team policy, terms of the agreement are not being disclosed.
Vychodil, 24, began last season with the Greensboro Generals (ECHL) where he tallied two assists and ten penalty minutes in ten games. The Czech Republic native was then assigned to the T-Birds and posted 17 points (4g, 13a) with 154 penalty minutes in 31 games. Vychodil joined Adirondack with 23 games left in the season putting up three points (1g, 2a) and 53 penalty minutes.
"David was a young guy who we brought back for depth." said Potvin. "In a short time last season he played extremely hard and deserved another opportunity."
Vychodil's first professional season was in 2001-02 when he split time between the Johnstown Chiefs and Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL. The 6'2'' 215-pounder played two games in Johnstown before joining the Nailers for 31 games recording an assist and 79 penalty minutes. During the 2002-03 season Vychodil played only one game in the states with Wheeling, before returning to the Czech Republic to finish out the season. Prior to going pro the blueliner skated for one season in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Sioux City Musketeers.
Vychodil is the 16th player invited to the Frostbite's training camp for the 2004-05 season. He joins forwards Hugo Belanger, Frank Littlejohn, Trevor Segstro, David Burgess, Sylvain Cloutier, Ryan Bennett, Kevin Taylor and Nick Burnatowski, defensemen Neil Wilkinson, Scott Drevitch, Kamil Kuriplach, Steve O'Rourke, Jason Jaworski and Henrik Bergfors and goalie Derek Gustafson.
Season Tickets for the 2004-05 season are on sale now at the Frostbite front office located at the Glen Street entrance of the Glens Falls Civic Center. Tickets may be purchased at the office from 9AM to 6PM Monday through Thursday and from 9AM to 5PM Friday or by calling 926-PUCK. Also, UHL All-Star Classic Tickets are on sale to season ticket holders now at the Frostbite office or by calling 926-PUCK. Individual game tickets and All-Star tickets go on sale to the public October 2nd at 10am.
