Elmira Jackals News Release
The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the United Hockey League, announced today the signing of veteran power forward Charlie Elezi. Elezi becomes the 19th player signed by the Jackals for the upcoming 2004-2005 Season.
Elezi, a Warren, MI native, comes to the Jackals from Oklahoma City of the CHL. In 2003-04 he had 9 goals, 6 assists, and 221 penalty minutes in 61 games for the Blazers. No stranger to the penalty box, Elezi has amassed over 1,000 PIMs in his 6 years as a professional, proving that he has no qualms about protecting his teammates.
"Charlie is a big, tough, veteran forward," said Jackals Head Coach Todd Brost. "His character and experience should make him one of the leaders on our team."
This is not the first taste of the UHL for Elezi. In 2002-03 he started briefly with the Port Huron Beacons before spending most of the season with the Kalamazoo Wings.
Season tickets, 20 game, 10 game and Flex Packs are on sale now for the 2004-2005 season. For more information call the First Arena Box Office at 607-734-7825.
