Muskegon Lumberjacks News Release

MUSKEGON, MI.--- As their preparations continue for their 13th consecutive year of operations as the best winning franchise in United Hockey League history, the reigning Colonial Cup Champions, the Muskegon Fury, are conscientiously applying some last touches to both the 2004-05 training camp roster as well as their training and medical staff.

With Head Coach Todd Nelson's second training camp set to convene in less than two weeks, on Monday, October 4th at the home of the Champions, Walker Arena, the Fury, today have appointed JOHN EDER, A.T.C., as the organization's new Head Athletic Trainer while at the same time, inking three more players to official UHL standard tryout agreements.

Goaltender DAN HOEHNE and left wings ALEXANDER THYMARAS and JAKE LAIME have been added to Muskegon's training camp roster to compete for a final roster berth for the upcoming season.

The Fury's new trainer, Eder, 39, joins the three-time champions possessing a rather diverse and experienced back-ground, predominantly gained from the collegiate level and the International arena. A southern Florida native, hailing from Nokomis, Florida, he recently earned his BS degree in Athletic Training at Barry University in Miami Shores, FL where he achieved a masterful 3.5 GPA. In addition, he has served for the last several years as an Athletic Training Intern for Barry's Soccer, Baseball, Tennis and Volleyball varsity teams. In Soccer, he was integrally involved on the Athletic Training Staff for IFS International events featuring National teams from Honduras, Columbia and Ecuador in 2001 and 2003.

Prior to his enrollment at Barry U., Eder earned as Associate of Arts degree in Physical Therapy from Manatee Community College in Venice FL.

Concerning the three newest members of the Fury training camp roster, Hoehne, perhaps, is the most familiar name, having served as the club's designated number three goaltender during Muskegon's undefeated, record-breaking 11-0 surge to the franchise' third Colonial Cup crown in the last five calendar years last spring. The 21-year-old American-bred from Duluth, Minnesota is 5-10, 175lb.

Thymaras and Laime are both rookies and both will be making their pro debuts when training camp convenes in less than two weeks.

The Fury's current training camp roster stands at 20. The roster includes three goaltenders; BRENT BELECKI, CLAYTON POOL and DAN HOEHNE; defensemen NOLAN BROWN, JORDON FLODELL, KEVIN HAUPT, TYLER PALMER, DAVE VAN DRUNEN; centers BILLY COLLINS, JEFF NELSON, TODD ROBINSON; left wings DAVID AMBLER, BRANT BLACKNED, B. J. GAUSTAD, JAKE LAIME, ALEXANDER THYMARAS; right wings ROBIN BOUCHARD, RUSTYN DOLYNY, SCOTT HOLLIS, JASON LAWMASTER.
