FORT MILL, S.C. - July 17, 2007 - The Chicago White Sox have recalled pitcher Ehren Wassermann from Charlotte. Wassermann has appeared in 38 games with the Knights this season going 2-4 with five saves and a 2.11 ERA.

Wassermann was signed by the White Sox after appearing in a regional tryout camp in 2003. He has gone 16-19 with a 2.40 ERA, 196 strikeouts and 78 saves in 225 relief appearances over five minor-league seasons. In 2005, Wassermann led the Carolina League with 20 saves earning him the Carolina League Rolaids Relief Man of the Year. He has appeared in All-Star Games with the Carolina League (2004), Southern League (2006) and International League (2007).

Chicago also optioned pitcher Nick Masset to the Knights on Tuesday. Masset, 25, went 2-3 with a 7.09 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 27 games (one start) with the White Sox this season. He was 0-2 with a 10.89 ERA in his last 19 relief appearances, allowing 16 walks and 36 hits during that span.
