Everett, WA - 4,549 Frog fans would witness the AquaSox win the first of the three-game series against the Canadians on Wednesday night. Everett ended their six-year Independence Day losing streak through clutch performances both offensively and defensively.

Starter Michael Plassmeyer had a quick night for the Frogs, finishing with 2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, and 4 SO.

The bottom of the second would see Jansiel Rivera hit his fourth home run of the season over the center field fence, 1-0 AquaSox. Four outs later, though, the Canadians would get a run back off the bat of Vinny Capra with Cody Mobley on the mound and tie the score up at one.

The top of the fourth nearly saw the Canadians take a one-run lead, but an accurate throw from Rivera in center field wouldn't allow it. The score remained locked at one after four.

The scoring would then open in the bottom of the sixth as the AquaSox put three runs on the board to take the lead, 4-1. Matt Sanders hit a ball off the left field fence bringing in Bobby Honeyman. Connor Kopach scores on a wild pitch with Geoandry Montilla at the plate and his perfectly placed bunt would bring in Sanders.

Mobley would finish his night (4.2 IP, 5 H, 1 R, and 1 BB) in the top of the seventh as reliever Noah Zavolas took over the mound. Zavolas quickly allowed a 2-run home run over the left field fence, letting the Canadians come within striking distance, 4-3. The right-hander was able to remain composed in the eighth and ninth innings, however, and would earn his second save of the season.

Everett will continue their three-game series against Vancouver tomorrow and Friday night. The Frogs will become the Conquistadores again this Friday as part of their Noche de Diversión Keep an eye out for Everett's uniform, designed specifically for the night. The first 400 fans on Friday will also receive a The Sandlot Funko Pop!. Tickets for the games are available at AquaSox.com or by calling our Front Office (425) 258-3673.
