Frogs Drop Third Game in Series, 9-2

EVERETT, Wash. - The AquaSox lost the third and final game in the series against Boise, hitting the road with a 9-11 record.

Michael Toglia drove in two runs for the Hawks in the third inning, giving Boise an early 2-0 lead. The Hawks' struck again in the top of the fourth, tacking on an additional six runs and extending their lead to 8-0 before the end of the inning.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Utah Jones hit a ground ball into a force out at second, driving home Billy Cooke for the AquaSox' first run of the game. Trent Tingelstad hit an RBI-single to left field, bringing the score to 8-2.

Trevor Boone hit an RBI-double in the top of the ninth, extending the Hawks' lead to 9-2. The Frogs attempted to rally in the bottom of the inning, but came up short, falling to the Hawks in the final game of the series.

At the plate, the AquaSox registered six hits overall, with two RBIs and doubles from Cash Gladfelter, Billy Cooke, Austin Shenton and Dean Nevarez. On the mound, starting pitcher Kelvin Nunez pitched three innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out two Hawks. Kipp Rollings pitched one inning for the 'Sox, giving up four runs on five hits while Deivy Florido closed the game, pitching five complete innings, striking out four batters and allowing one run in his Everett debut.

Up next, the AquaSox hit the road on July 4 and head to Eugene to take on the Eugene Emeralds for a three-game series. After that, they'll visit our northern neighbors on July 7 for a three-game against the Vancouver Canadians.
