Frisco Takes Series Finale in Midland

MIDLAND, Texas - The Frisco RoughRiders downed the Midland RockHounds 6-5 in the final game of the six-game series from Momentum Bank Ballpark on Sunday afternoon. The win gave the Riders (14-7) a 4-2 series victory.
The RoughRiders found the scoreboard first in the top of the second when David Garcia lined an RBI single to right-center to make it 1-0. Frisco added another run on an error that brought in Justin Foscue and a Trey Hair RBI groundout to increase the advantage to 3-0.
In the third, Blaine Crim hammered his second home run in as many days, a solo shot, and his third of the season to make the score 4-0.
The RockHounds (10-11) came back in the fifth against Cole Ragans (1-1), who earned the win in his start for the Riders. Ragans went 5.1 innings - which was the longest a Riders starter has gone this season - allowing three runs, all earned, on eight hits while striking out five and walking two.
In the fifth, Midland got on the board with a solo homer from Jeremy Eierman and then cut their deficit to one with two more runs in the sixth on a Jordan Diaz RBI double and a run-scoring wild pitch from Ragans.
In the seventh, Frisco added insurance when Dustin Harris ripped an RBI double and Crim added a sacrifice fly to put Frisco up 6-3.
In the ninth, Fer Ozuna, who earned his second save this season, allowed a pair of tallies on an RBI groundout from Chase Calabuig and an RBI single by Eierman, but locked it down for the Riders' 14th win of the season.
The RoughRiders return home, following a day off on Monday, to take on the Arkansas Travelers (Seattle Mariners) in the first of six games on Tuesday, May 3rd, at 6:35 p.m. from Riders Field.
