Friday Night Victory for the Braves

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves (6-17) defeated the Hickory Crawdads (14-9) by a score of 7-3 on Friday night in front of 2,424 fans. Tanner Kreitemeier was a homerun shy of the cycle and went three for four with four RBI.

Rome got on the board in the third on a two run triple by Krietemeier to take the 2-0 lead. Hickory would tie the contest in the next inning on a two run homer by Travis Demeritte. Rome pulled away for good in the bottom of the fourth on two run doubles by Sal Giardina and Krietemeier and an RBI single by Johan Camargo for the 7-2 lead. Rome's bullpen would hold Hickory to just one more run in the seventh for the final 7-3 Braves victory.

Matt Marksberry (1-6) gets his first win of the season while Ricardo Rodriguez (5-4) is charged with the loss. Marksberry recorded seven strike outs on the night.
