(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) Hagerstown starter Nick Pivetta and reliever Justin Thomas combined to shut out the Lexington Legends 5-0 Friday night.

Pivetta (11-5) worked the first six innings. He allowed three hits, struck out seven batters and walked none.

The Suns took the lead in the second inning on a double by David Masters and a single by Brennan Middleton. They added single runs in the third and fourth, and then scored two in the fifth. Brian Langlois led off the fifth with a single, and Jimmy Yezzo reached base on an error by shortstop Humberto Arteaga. Carlos Lopez' single scored Langlois and Yezzo came home on a single by Narciso Mesa.

Legends starter Cody Reed (2-7) pitched four and two-thirds innings and took the loss.

The Suns have taken the first two games in the series, which continues Saturday night. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
