Quad City Steamwheelers News Release

DAVENPORT, Iowa — This Friday, July 2, at the Quad City Steamwheelers game against their rival Peoria Pirates, the team will recognize all of the local area unions with Union Recognition Night. The game will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. at The MARK of the Quad Cities.

Many of the area's local unions have already signed up and will be in attendance at the game. For those who are not signed up to attend the game, it is not too late. All union members have to do is contact their Local's President, Business Agent or Greg Moroni at the Quad City Steamwheelers office, located on the corner of Third and Main Streets at 200 West Third Street, Davenport, IA. Moroni can also be reached by phone at 563-324-4888 or toll free at 1-866-STEAMTIX.

Union members have two options for this game on the benefits that they can receive. The first is a $10 seat for only $7 or a second option of a $19 VIP Silver Group Package, which includes a pre-game meal from Johnny's Italian Steakhouse and ticket to the game.

There will also be plenty of excitement for the kids with face painting and the inflatable Arena Football field across the street at The MARK at the "Rockin' Riverside" pre-game tailgate party.

During the game, the unions will be recognized by public announcements of all unions in attendance and several union banners hung in the arena. There will also be a non-partisan voters registration booth on the concourse set up by UAW CAP Council.

All union members attending the game will receive a Steamwheelers official 2004 team poster, which they can get signed on the field following the game by the players, coaches and DeckMates.

The Steamwheelers will also be wearing "Spirit of America" jerseys to be auctioned off after the game with all proceeds going to the Genesis Heart Institute. The jerseys will also have a "Union Yes" patch to recognize Union Night and the significant support positive impact their members have in the Quad City community.
