MATCH PREVIEW

Los Zorros returns to the Valley this week, hosting its final #FuegoFriday of the season when they take on Real Monarchs at 7:30 p.m. at Chukchansi Park. Fresno will look to defend its home and make it six straight wins at Chukchansi Park. Los Zorros are winners of seven of their last eight and will look to reach three consecutive wins against a tough fourth-place side in Real Monarchs that will want to avenge a 4-2 loss to Fresno in Utah earlier this season. That was Fresno's first-ever win against Real Monarchs, and a win Friday would complete Fresno's first sweep of an opponent this season. Real Monarchs are winners of two in a row, most recently grabbing a 4-1 win over Tulsa in a game that saw Jack Blake and Kalen Ryden make the Team of the Week for their performances. Leading the scoring for Real Monarchs are forwards Douglas Martinez and Maikel Chang with nine goals each, while Martinez also leads the club in assists with six. While scoring more goals than Fresno FC (43 to 38), Los Zorros hold a better defensive record, allowing just 22 goals in 22 games, compared to Real Monarchs' 33 in 23 games. Currently, Los Zorros hold the second-best defensive record in the Western Conference and have not given up more than one goal in seven straight games.
